Penn State Extension: April 11 In-Person Workshop In Beaver County On Managing Invasive Species

The
Penn State Extension will hold an April 11 in-person workshop on Managing Invasive Species at the McClure Farm, 388 Elwood Blvd in Darlington, Beaver County from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This workshop will focus on the importance of properly identifying and managing invasive plant species and exploring effective methods to eradicate them with minimal herbicide application.

Invasive species threaten the establishment and long-term health of ecologically valuable native plants, yet they can be difficult to recognize and control—even for experienced gardeners.

This hands-on workshop will demonstrate practical techniques and share real-world examples of successful invasives management to support sustainable land stewardship.

As part of the Environmental Field Studies series held in Beaver County, participants will engage in field-based learning that deepens understanding of ecological gardening and land management through accessible, experiential instruction from knowledgeable, down-to-earth educators.

Please note that the program involves walking on slightly uneven terrain; in cases of mobility limitations, an alternate route or stationary experience can be arranged to ensure accessibility for all participants.
