DEP To Host April 8 Meeting On North East Waste Systems Municipal Waste Transfer Station permit In Hazleton, Luzerne County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 28 PA Bulletin announcing an April 8 public meeting on a waste permit for the
North East Waste Systems Municipal Waste Transfer Station in Hazleton, Luzerne County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1777)

The meeting will be held at The Pines Eatery & Spirits located at 8 West Broad Street, Hazleton from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

DEP’s role as the reviewing and regulatory agency will be discussed at the meeting and the applicant will describe the proposed project. Presentations will be followed by a question and answer session with residents.

The public meeting is part of the environmental justice enhanced public participation process that will give residents and interested parties an opportunity to ask questions of North East Waste Systems and DEP.

DEP is accepting comments on the application until May 6.
