The Extravaganza will feature interactive displays, educational workshops, and activities for all ages.
Four 45-60 minute workshops will be held on rain barrels, carnivorous plants, skunks and trees for streamside restoration.
An elementary age student workshop will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on flower dissection.
Interactive displays from over 20 nonprofit organizations will be available from the Adams County Conservation District; Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards Adams County; Adams County Planning Office; Land Conservancy of Adams County; Penn State Extension Master Gardeners; Penn State Extension Forestry; Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin; Game Commission; Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay; Mid-Atlantic Carnivorous Plant Society; Strawberry Hill Foundation; National Resource Conservation Service-PA; Watershed Alliance of Adams County; Trout Unlimited; Pheasants Forever; USDA Farm Bureau; Fish & Boat Commission; Gettysburg Green Gathering; Gettysburg National Military Park; South Mountain Audubon Society; Chesapeake Bay Foundation; Friends of Codorus State Park; Capital RC & D; DCNR Bureau of Forestry.
Live music by David Sparrow, face painting, photos with Smokey Bear, and food trucks - Tacos Monarca and Antietam Dairy will also be available.
The event will happen rain or shine although we will move indoors in case of inclement weather. It is free and appropriate for all ages.
The Extravaganza is organized by the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards Program and the Adams County Conservation District, with support from the Gettysburg Green Gathering and the Watershed Alliance of Adams County.
