DEP To Hold April 8 Informal Public Conference On Adding 4,380 Acres To Consol Coal Enlow Fork Coal Mine In Greene County

The Department of Environmental Protection published
notice in the March 14 PA Bulletin announcing an April 8 Informal Public Conference on the NPDES Mining Permit modification proposing to add 4,380 underground mining acres to the Consol PA Coal Company, LLC Enlow Fork Longwall Coal Mine located in Morris and Richhill Townships, Greene County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1515)

The Public Conference will be held at the Morris Township Municipal Building, 77 Park Drive, in Prosperity, PA starting at 6:00 p.m. 

Department staff will provide a brief presentation regarding the proposed activities in the application. 

Immediately following the presentation, the Department will hold an open forum with attendees to answer general questions regarding the permit application and permitting process. 

Mapping will be available for attendees to review with Department staff to assist with questions.

Department staff will be available to receive both written and oral testimony regarding the application. 

Testimony will be placed into public record for the application and considered by Department staff in the application review process.

Comments will be accepted until April 22.

Copies of the application are on file for public review by appointment at Department of Environmental Protection, District Mining Operations, California District Office, 25 Technolgy Drive, California Technology Park, Coal Center, PA 15423.
