DEP Invites Comments On First Title V Air Quality Permit For the Calpine Mid-Merit II 1,449 MW Natural Gas-Fired Power Plant In York County; To Supply Power To Data Center Project

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the November 1 PA Bulletin inviting comments on the first Title V Air Quality Permit for the 1,449 MW Calpine Mid-Merit II, LLC natural gas-fired power plant in Peach Bottom Township, York County.  (PA Bulletin, page 7634)

Potential emissions from the facility are calculated to be 164.1 tons PM-10, 164.1 tons PM-2.5, 361.2 tons NOx, 1,215.6 tons CO, 258.1 tons VOC, 37.3 tons SO2; and less than 25 tons HAPs. 

The Operating Permit will include emission limits and work practice standards along with monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting requirements to ensure the facility complies with the applicable air quality regulations.

Comments are due December 1 - 30 days from the notice.

No hearing is scheduled, but one can be requested.
