DEP Posts 51 Pages Of Permit-Related Notices In Jan. 1 PA Bulletin

The Department of Environmental Protection published 51 pages of public notices related to proposed and final permit and approval/ disapproval actions in the January 1 PA Bulletin -
pages 46 to 97.

DEP Sets Jan. 26 Hearing On Permits For LCT Energy Rustic Ridge #1 Mine Fayette, Westmoreland Counties

The Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled a January 26 virtual hearing on the coal mining activities and NPDES Water Quality permits for the LCT Energy, LP Rustic Ridge #1 Mine in Fayette and Westmoreland counties (
PA Bulletin, page 96).

Individuals who wish to participate and ask questions during the informal conference must contact community relations coordinator Lauren Fraley at lfraley@pa.gov  or 412-442-4203 a minimum of 24-hours in advance of the event to reserve a time to present testimony. 

Individuals who register for the event will receive an email containing the link and instructions on how to join the virtual informal public conference.

The virtual hearing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

DEP Invites Public To Submit Data For Stream Evaluations In Berks, Clearfield Counties

The Department of Environmental Protection is inviting the public to submit water quality data as part of stream evaluations for Angelica Creek in Berks County and Saltlick Run in Clearfield County.

The Angelica Creek evaluation is being conducted in response to a rulemaking petition submitted to the Environmental Quality Board (Board) by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network and the Angelica Creek Watershed Association.

The Saltlick Run evaluation is being conducted in response to a rulemaking petition submitted to the Board by RES Coal, LLC.

Persons who have technical data concerning the water quality, instream habitat or biological condition of these stream sections are encouraged to make it available to the Department for consideration in these evaluations. 

These evaluations may lead to recommendations to the Board for redesignation.

Interested persons may submit data through Monday, January 31, 2022. Persons are encouraged to submit data using the Department's online eComment tool or by email to ecomment@pa.gov.

DCNR Sets Feb. 1 Hearing On Wild Resource Conservation Program Funding

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is scheduled to hold a February 1 hearing on proposed
Wild Resource Conservation Program funding for FY 2021-22.  (formal notice)

The purpose of the hearing is to allow interested persons the opportunity to make recommendations to the Wild Resource Conservation Board concerning allocation of funds for grants and other projects to preserve and enhance the wild resource in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-2022. 

The hearing will be held in the 6th Floor Conference Room, Rachel Carson Building in Harrisburg starting at Noon.
