DEP Invites Comments On A PA General Energy Chapter 105 Permit For 3.9 Mile Shale Gas Well Pad Development Access Road, Staging Area In Loyalsock State Forest, Lycoming County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the November 1 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a PA General Energy Co. LLC Chapter 105 encroachment permit for a 3.9 mile long shale gas well pad development access road and staging area in the Loyalsock State Forest, Gamble and Cascade Townships, Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 7651)

The permit will authorize the construction, operation and maintenance of twenty (20) permanent stream crossings, nineteen (19) temporary stream crossings, eight (8) permanent wetland crossings and ten (10) temporary wetland crossings.

The project will impact Wallis Run (Exceptional Value), Bottom Bar Hollow (Exceptional Value), Jacoby Hollow (Exceptional Value), and multiple wetlands at multiple locations.

The deadline for comments is December 1 - 30 days from the notice.

No hearing or informal conference is scheduled, but one can be requested.
