Participants will learn about the roots of environmental justice in Pennsylvania as well as how to utilize the same mapping tool the Commonwealth does to identify Environmental Justice communities and the indicators that shape that determination.
You will hear directly from impacted residents on both sides of the Commonwealth about what it’s like to live in an Environmental Justice community as well as have key findings and recommendations from the recently completed Community and Environmental Health Study shared with you.
Finally, you’ll hear about legislation moving in the General Assembly to better protect Environmental Justice communities and the political dynamics holding it up.
This event is sponsored by Clean Water Action, Conservation Voters of PA, Clean Air Council, EcoPhilly, PennFuture, Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living, and Marcus Hook Area Neighbors for Public Health.
