DEP Invites Comments On Proposed Termination Of NPDES Water Quality Permit For Mercatoris Oil Co. Inc. For Failure To Comply With Permit In Crawford County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the June 6 PA Bulletin inviting comments on the termination of the NPDES Water Quality Permit for the Mercatoris Oil Co. Inc. located in Sadsbury Township, Crawford County.  (

DEP said the intent to terminate the permit was the result of the failure of Mercatoris Oil to comply with one or more conditions of the permit.

The NPDES Permit is for the discharge of wastewater from a groundwater treatment facility for gasoline that has not yet begun to operate.

DEP will accept comments for 30 days from this notice- July 6.
