PA Interfaith Power & Light Now Accepting Applications For Community Tree Project Technical Assistance; Apply For Free Trees

The
PA Interfaith Power & Light is offering Community Tree Project Technical Assistance as part of the Roots, Branches and Hands Tree Planting Initiative.

Technical assistance could include no-cost trees, providing expert advice, or hiring a specialist for the preparation or maintenance of a planting project.

Technical assistance requests are carefully reviewed on a case by case basis.

Examples of technical assistance include, but are not limited to: Tree stump removal; Dead/hazardous tree removal; Soil remediation; Pruning; Tree pest diagnosis and treatment; and Tree replacement.

Several communities are already receiving technical assistance in our pilot projects.

For example, East Chestnut Mennonite Church in Lancaster received support to remove concrete and plant street trees on their property.

The Original American Foundation in Philadelphia received support to remove stumps to make way for the next generation of trees.

Technical assistance projects are intended for the benefit of the broader community, not private landowners.
