PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - June 27

The following notices were published in the
June 27 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- Special Notice: On June 16, 2026 DEP accepted Talen Energy’s Air Quality Plan Approval Application as complete for the addition of two natural gas-fired turbine generators to the Montour Power Plant in Derry Township, Montour County related to powering data centers. DEP’s technical review will now begin.  Read more here.

-- DEP published notice in the June 27 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a major amendment to an existing Homer City Generation LP Data Campus Project NPDES Wastewater Permit changing wastestreams going to discharge 027 in Center Township, Indiana County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3741)   Read more here.

-- DEP published notice in the June 27 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a Chapter 105 permit application by Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. for the KP-1 Creek Crossing natural gas pipeline replacement and test station relocation project in Armstrong County. (PA Bulletin, page 3800)


-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the June 27 PA Bulletin announcing water withdrawal and other actions taken at its June 4 business meeting-- Constellation Energy Three Mile Island Nuclear Data Center Power Plant water withdrawal and one shale gas water withdrawal.  Read more here.

-- National Fuel Gas - Tract 007 Compressor Station Site: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at a site located in Delmar Twp., Tioga County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3783)

-- Greylock Product, LLC - Veres Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Green Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 3786)

-- EQM Gathering OPCO, LLC - Spicket Booster Station: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the facility located in Wayne Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 3786)

-- EQT Corporation - Aphrodite Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Penn Twp., Westmoreland County. (PA Bulletin, page 3786)


2026 Act 2 Oil & Gas Facility Pollution Cleanups

So far in 2026, DEP received or acted on 104 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups.

-- NexEra Renewable Fuels, LLC - Northern Tier Waste Authority Landfill Gas Facility: DEP issued a renewal of a WMGM-55 General Waste Permit for the landfill gas facility located in West Burlington Twp., Branford County. (PA Bulletin, page 3787)
