DEP Invites Comments On Air Quality Permit For Installation Of 156 Diesel Generators At The Greenfield Road Owner, LLC Phase 2 Data Center Project In City Of Lancaster

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the September 26 PA Bulletin inviting comments on an Air Quality Plan Approval for the installation of 156 diesel generators and other air pollution sources at the Greenfield Road Owner, LLC phase 2 data center project in the City of Lancaster.  (PA Bulletin, page 6399) 

The Phase 2 of a data center and managed hosting service facility is located at the former LSC Communication East facility at 216 Greenfield Road.

Phase 2 involves the installation of 84 diesel generators.

An Air Quality Plan Approval was already issued for Phase 1 of the project covering the installation of 72 diesel generators.

No hearing has been scheduled, but one may be requested.

Comments are due October 26--- 30 days from this notice.

Comments should be sent to DEP Southcentral Office Air Quality Program, 909 Elmerton Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

The Governor’s executive order requires data center developers to obtain all permits and local approvals before DEP can review any permits for the facility.
