Environmental Health Project: Resources For Communities Concerned About Health Impacts Of A.I. Data Centers

Data centers are being proposed and developed at an alarming rate, but the health and environmental impacts of data centers are inspiring communities to organize. 

In response, the Environmental Health Project has developed a collection of resources to raise awareness and empower community members to advocate for themselves. Among these resources, we offer--

Users can click on the statements in the infographic [PD1] to learn more about the impacts of data centers, including air, noise, and light pollution, plus increases in electric costs, water use, and contributions to climate change.
Strategies from the Front Lines: How Communities Fight Data Centers
    Are you looking to ensure your community has taken the necessary health-protective measures? This blog post follows one community member’s experience challenging data center developments, complete with a list of freely-available resources, best practices, and an outline for other advocates to employ in their own region.

     History seems to be repeating itself and EHP’s Executive Director looks at the health impacts of the fracking boom as a preview for the health impacts of data centers.

Call for the Shapiro administration to address health hazards of fossil fuels

Finally, this public statement calls on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro to support renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, during this watershed moment as Pennsylvania is poised to develop a fleet of data centers.
