DEP Announces Winners Of 2026 PA Student Radon Poster Contest; Regan Schall Went On To Win 1st Place In National Contest

On February 4, the Department of Environmental Protection announced the winners of the 2026
Radon Student Poster Contest on social media.

Students ages 9 to 14 used their creativity to spread awareness about the dangers of radon gas and the importance of testing our homes.

The winners are--

-- First Place: Regan Schall, North Hills Middle School in Pittsburgh, a student of Ms. Anita Rodriguez

-- Second Place: Arfa Cheema, a student of "Slepak"; and

-- Third Place: Tristyn Williams, a student of Mrs. Swarts.

Regan Schall's entry went on to win first place in the 2026 National Radon Poster Contest, sponsored by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors. Cash prizes will be awarded by the American Lung Association.
