FPW supports community-led efforts to protect and restore Pennsylvania’s water resources.
FPW’s conservation grants program prioritizes projects that improve water quality and aquatic habitat in impaired watersheds, conserve critical headwaters, and expand community access to healthy streams.
FPW is especially interested in initiatives that help organizations build their ability to leverage state and federal funding for greater conservation impact.
Funding will support projects that demonstrate measurable on-the-ground results. FPW gives preference to efforts that involve strong collaboration, attract additional funding, and can report improved water quality outcomes.
Key Dates
-- Letter of Intent deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026
-- Full proposals (by invitation): Friday, April 17, 2026
-- Grant decisions announced: By May 22, 2026
Average grant awards range from $20,000 to $25,000. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and government entities such as conservation districts.
Projects must be located in Pennsylvania and show a cash or in-kind match. Final reporting is required.
FPW also provides convening grants of up to $2,000 to support nonprofit partners and their efforts to facilitate project collaboration or convene groups to set strategy for conservation success.

New Grant Portal
New for 2026, FPW is pleased to announce the launch of a new grant application portal.
The new system allows applicants and grantees to track applications and reports in one place and receive automatic deadline reminders.
All applicants, regardless of past applications or awards, will need to create a new user account in the portal.
To assist with navigating the new portal, a user guide, as well as additional information about our grant programs, is available on the FPW website.
