Located at one of Reading’s most prominent downtown intersections, the transformational $52 million project led by Shuman Development Group will incorporate historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and new construction to deliver approximately 150 residential units and 53,000 square feet of retail space while reactivating two long-vacant historic buildings and restoring momentum to the Penn Street corridor.
A project of GBA’s Resilient Reading initiative, the tour will feature insights from members of the project development team, Berks-area preservationists, and GBA.
The tour will explore:
-- Historic preservation and adaptive reuse strategies for existing buildings
-- Designing building projects and redevelopment for energy efficiency and long-term resiliency
-- Public-private partnership and downtown revitalization
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Click Here to register online or reach out to GBA at info@gba.org.
