DEP To Hold Aug. 4 Hearing On Major Modification To Waste Permit For Blythe Recycling & Demolition Waste Site Landfill In Schuylkill County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 11 PA Bulletin announcing an August 4 hearing on a major modification to the waste permit for the Blythe Recycling & Demolition Waste Site (BRADS) Landfill in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.  (

The hearing will be held at the Saint Clair Area Elementary/Middle School Gym located at 227 S. Mill Street, Saint Clair, PA from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Individuals wishing to testify at the hearing submit a written notice of intent to Patricia Monahan, Community Relations Coordinator, BRADS Landfill Public Hearing, PA DEP, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1915, or by email to:  pamonahan@pa.gov

The Department will accept notices from individuals interested in testifying up to the day of the hearing. 

The written notice should include the person’s name, address, telephone number and a brief statement as to the nature of their presentation. 

The Department requests that individuals limit their testimony to 5 minutes so that all individuals have the opportunity to testify.

Persons unable to attend the hearing may submit written statements/comments to the Department on or before August 4, 2026.

The permit application is available for review at DEP’s BRADS Landfill community webpage.
