Recognition of Council Members

-- CNRAC Chair Silas Chamberlin received the PA Parks & Forests Foundation Joseph Ibberson Government Award for his notable commitments to community development, which include leading the creation of York County’s most recent 10-year economic development plan, founding and overseeing the York County Trail Towns program, and leading the development of the Codorus Greenway.

-- The Outdoor Inclusion Coalition, led by CNRAC member Marcus Shoffner, received the PA Parks & Forests Foundation Chair’s Award. PPFF recognized the Coalition’s creation of pathways for communities that have historically been underrepresented in outdoor spaces—fostering connection, belonging, and opportunity.

-- CNRAC Chair Silas Chamberlin was part of a York County Rail Trail Authority team recognized with a Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence for the Oil Creek Floodplain Restoration Project, which restored approximately 3,800 linear feet of stream channel, created 11 acres of wetlands, and removed over 80,000 cubic yards of nutrient-rich sediment from the valley bottom as part of trail expansion work.

-- CNRAC Vice Chair Rocco Ali is an Associate Director at the Armstrong Conservation District, which received a Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence for the Glade Run Streambank Stabilization and Fish Habitat Project. This project installed 1,570 feet of fish habitat structures, planted riparian vegetation, and prevented excess sediment pollution from severe erosion.
