DEP Accepting Comments On Stormwater Permit For The Mid Atlantic Interstate Transmission LLC Ashtabula-Erie West 345kV Rehabilitation Project In Erie County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the May 23 PA Bulletin inviting comments on an Individual Stormwater Permit for the Mid Atlantic Interstate Transmission LLC Ashtabula-Erie West 345kV Rehabilitation Project. In Conneaut and Springfield Townships, Erie County  (PA Bulletin, page 3049)

This project is to replace approximately 5.8 miles of existing transmission line and reconductoring approximately 1.4 miles of existing transmission line right-of-way and will reuse  some existing transmission towers.  Read more here.

It involves the disturbance of 140 acres and will impact Conneaut Creek, Turkey Creek, Racoon Creek and Crooked Creek (High Quality).

No hearing has been scheduled, but one may be requested.

Comments are due June 22-- 30 days from this notice.
