The General Assembly and Gov. Josh Shapiro re-enacted “Solar for Schools” legislation, as well as $25 million in the state budget for grants for schools to go solar as part of this year's state budget.
The PA Solar Center is encouraging schools to enter our GET Solar Schools program to learn more about the legislation, receive technical assistance, and to help prepare to access the funds, as well as federal and utility incentives, to go solar.
Featured speakers include--
-- Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler, prime sponsor of the bipartisan grant program;
-- Devin Gray from the Department of Community and Economic Development will go over the guidelines for the program;
-- Liz Robinson, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Solar Energy Association, will review the Solar for Schools toolkit that they have created; and
-- Leo Kowalski, PA Solar Center, will review the GET Solar Schools technical assistance program, which helps schools assess their solar feasibility and estimate their savings from going solar, as well as understand how to access all possible financial options.
