The
PA Recycling Markets Center will hold another in its Sustainable Materials Management Webinar Series February 18 on Glass For A Sustainable Future, Update On Penn State Lion Glass Project from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m.

LionGlass, Penn State’s patent-pending glass compositional family offers an alternative to standard soda lime silicate glass for reducing the carbon footprint of the glass industry by  about 50%.

It achieves this goal by lowering the melting temperature of everyday glass products by 400°C and eliminating the use of carbonate batch materials.

LionGlass also offers 10× improvement in damage resistance compared to soda lime silicate, enabling the lightweighting of everyday glass products.

Join presenter Dr. John Mauro, a world renown materials science engineer, educator and author, for a presentation on the latest developments of the LionGlass project, highlighting its potential applications with glass industry partners and environmental benefits.
