DEP Issues Air Quality Permit For 15 Natural Gas Generators To Power Iron City Wells, LLC Data Center In Karthaus Twp., Clearfield County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the January 31 PA Bulletin announcing it has issued an Air Quality Plan Approval covering the installation of 15 natural gas-fired electric generators to power an Iron City Wells, LLC  A.I. data center in Karthaus Township, Clearfield County. (PA Bulletin, page 671) 

The emissions from the proposed source included in this project will not exceed the following limits: 19.93 tons of nitrogen oxides (NOx, expressed as NO2) per year, 29.52 tons of carbon monoxide per year, 20.43 tons of volatile organic compounds per year, 3.03 tons of particulate matter less than 10 microns and less than 2.5 microns, 0.92 ton of hazardous air pollutants, 0.20 ton of sulfur oxides, and 51,759 tpy of carbon dioxide equivalent.

All documents used in the evaluation of the application are available for public review during normal business hours at the DEP's Northcentral Regional Office, 208 West Third Street, Suite 101, Williamsport, PA 17701.
