DEP Invites Comments On Air Permit For Amazon Data Services To Add 86 Diesel Generators To A.I. Data Center Project In Salem Twp., Luzerne County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the April 25 PA Bulletin inviting comments on an Air Quality Plan Approval to add 86 backup diesel generators and three additional 12,000 gallon diesel storage tanks to the A.I. data center site in Salem Township, Luzerne County. (

An Air Quality Permit for this site already includes 109 diesel generators and four 12,000 gallon diesel storage tanks.

No hearing has been scheduled on this permit, but one can be requested.

DEP will accept comments until May 25-- 30 days after this notice.

Requests to review the permit application should be sent to the DEP Northeast Regional Office Air Quality Program, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre 18701 or call 570-826-2511.
