DEP Sets Aug. 25 Hearing On Revisions To Perkiomenville Quarry Noncoal Mining Permit In Montgomery County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 19 PA Bulletin announcing an August 25 public hearing on a proposed change to the post-mining land use in the noncoal mining permit for the Perkiomenville Quarry in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County.  (

The revision to the pending application modifies the post mining land use to unmanaged natural habitat. The original submission requested a post mining land use of industrial - commercial land.

The site is located within the Unami Creek Watershed which is designated as High Quality.

The hearing will be held at the Marlborough Township Building, 6040 Upper Ridge Road in Green Lane from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
