Center For Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training Hosts In-Person Workshops On Identification Of On-Farm Resource Concerns & Implementing Conservation Practices Aug. 19-21, Sept. 16-18

The August 19-21 session will be held at the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State's York Campus.

The September 16-18 session will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, Fiddler's Building, 132 Pectin Road in Dunbar.

The schedule for the first two days of the course is 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Day 3 will run from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

This course is intended for conservation district technicians, managers, agricultural conservation professionals and other technical staff working with the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program.

Participants can learn about: 

-- Agricultural literacy topics that are important to conservation professionals. 

-- Resource concern identification on agricultural lands. 

-- Planning criteria for agricultural best management practices. 

-- Agricultural conservation practice function and implementation. 

-- In-field basics for agricultural conservation technical assistance. 

The registration fee for the workshop is $60. Participants must register by Aug. 7 for the session in York and by Sept. 4 for the session in Dunbar. 

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided all three days. 

The Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training at Penn State Extension is funded through the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program and similar funding programs administered by the State Conservation Commission

Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences research and extension programs are funded in part by Pennsylvania counties, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
