DEP Sets Sept. 15 Hearing On Blythe Recycling & Demolition [BRADS] Landfill Permit Modification Related To Leachate Hauling At Its Facility In Schuylkill County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the August 22 PA Bulletin of a September 15 hearing on the proposed modification of the Blythe Recycling and Demolition [BRADS] Landfill to include leachate hauling from its facility in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.  (

The modification would authorize leachate hauling by truck as the primary means of handling leachate from the facility.

The hearing will be held September 15 at the Saint Clair Area Elementary/Middle School Gym, 227 S. Mill Street in Saint Clair from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Individuals wishing to testify at the hearing submit a written notice of intent to Maria Tavera Vilchis, Northeast Regional Coordinator, PADEP Office of Environmental Justice, re: BRADS Public Hearing, PA DEP, 4530 Bath Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18017, or by email to:  mtaveravil@pa.gov

DEP will accept notices up to the day of the hearing.

Persons unable to attend the hearing may submit written statements/comments to the Department on or before September 15, 2026.

Comments should be sent to DEP Northeast Regional Office Waste Management Program, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
