PA Resources Council, Allegheny County Host Weekday Electronic Waste Recycling Collections During Mondays, Wednesdays In October

Throughout October,
Pennsylvania Resources Council will collect electronics for recycling on designated weekdays in Allegheny County.

Through the generous support of the Allegheny County Health Department, PRC will conduct e-waste collection events on Mondays and Wednesdays in October in North Park.

“PRC helps residents conveniently and cost-effectively dispose of a wide variety of items not accepted in curbside pickup,” according to PRC Executive Director Darren Spielman.  “We need to divert these materials from landfills since many contain toxic elements that can leach into our waterways and our environment, while others contain valuable recyclables.”

Registration currently is open for the four-week collection series taking place in North Park--

-- Mondays, October 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

-- Wednesdays, October 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Fees will be charged to recycle materials--

-- Participant Fee ($5 per car) – Individuals can drop off unlimited cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.), stereo equipment, desktop copiers and scanners, electronic cables, video game consoles, VCS, DVD player and cable boxes

-- Per-Item Fee – Individuals can recycle televisions and computer monitors, printers.

Printers – $5 each

-- Computer Monitors (flat screen & CRT) – $20 each

-- Televisions – $35 each
