At the Summit, Jodi Rose announced she would be stepping back from leadership after nearly 11 years as the organization’s Executive Director to accept a new position as Section Chief of Watershed Stewardship with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection in Maryland.
The Summit gathered together faithful green leaders from congregations throughout the Chesapeake Bay for shared learning, inspiration, reflection, celebration, and fellowship.
This conference-style event featured renowned keynote speakers including Rev. Patrick Woods from St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Rev. William (Bill) Gohl Jr., Bishop of the Delaware-Maryland Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and Hilary Harp Falk, President and CEO of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in engaging workshops covering a spectrum of critical topics such as plastic reduction, environmental justice, native plants, tree planting and maintenance, zero waste practices, food justice, community solar, and more.
The event also included a ground tour of Saint Mary's Parish and an optional lobby night for advocacy on key environmental bills.
During the Summit, IPC leadership expressed gratitude for Jodi’s outstanding leadership and dedication to the organization's mission by awarding her with IPC’s “Founder & Vision Award.”
Her contributions to IPC's growth and impact on watershed restoration initiatives were celebrated by attendees and partners alike.
Reflecting on her time at IPC, Jodi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals and faith communities dedicated to environmental stewardship.
"It has been an honor to lead IPC and witness the transformative impact of faith-based environmental activism," she remarked. "I look forward to continuing to lead others towards watershed stewardship in my new role and contribute to ongoing efforts to protect our planet."
IPC’s Board of Directors is tremendously grateful for Jodi’s outstanding leadership and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
The organization will soon commence a search for a new Executive Director to continue its mission to inspire and equip people of faith to honor, protect, and restore our shared watershed.
