DEP Invites Comments On Water Quality Permit For Carbon Node East Development Transmission Line, Utility Crossing In Nesquehoning Boro, Carbon County To Support A.I. Data Center Development

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the April 4 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a Chapter 105 permit by
Carbon Node East Development, LLC for a multiple electric transmission line, utility line and fiber optic cable crossing of Dennison Run (Exceptional Value) located in Nesquehoning Boro, Carbon County. (PA Bulletin, page 1880)

The crossing involves the overhead crossing of Dennison Run (Exceptional Value) by two electric transmission lines and the crossing of a 10-inch fiber optic cable conduit, according to the notice.

The project also involves constructing an industrial building in the floodway and crossing the floodway with two water pipelines-- a 10-inch and 16-inch-- using horizontal drilling.

The project is located at 701-635 Industrial Road, directly northeast of the intersection of Dennison Road and Industrial Road in Nesquehoning Borough, Carbon County.

The deadline for comments is May 4-- 30 days from this notice.

No hearing has been scheduled, but one can be requested.
