PA Firefly Festival Set For June 26-27 In Forest County, Ticket Raffle For Tours, Programs Opens Jan. 1; Festival Exhibits & Entertainment Will Now Be Open To Public

The 2026
PA Firefly Festival will be held in Forest County on June 26 and 27 with interpretive programs and guided tours.  The raffle for tickets will open on January 1.

New this year-- the exhibits and entertainment portion of the Festival will now be free and open to the public June 27 in Tionesta.

Ticket Raffle For Programs/Tours

The PA Firefly Festival is an annual event timed to be during the emergence of several species of fireflies in late June, including Synchronous Fireflies.

On Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, PAFF will host  2-nights of interpretive programs and guided firefly tours from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. for ticketed visitors at the Tionesta Lake Information Center.

In order to protect the fireflies and reduce the human impacts on their habitats, the Festival asks that visitors be pre-registered for these tours, AND due to the high demand and limited resources to accommodate large audiences, PAFF uses a lottery system.

The lottery is the most fair and accessible way we have found to manage the increasing public interest in fireflies.

A link to the lottery will open to the general public on January 1, 2026.

Be sure to pencil-in your dates and check your email for notices starting March 30 to see if you are a lucky winner.

NEW! Exhibits & Entertainment

The 2026 PAFF exhibits and entertainment portion of the Festival will now take place at the Market Village, 300 Block of Elm St. in downtown Tionesta on Saturday, June 27 from Noon to 6:00 p.m.

This part of the weekend's events will be FREE and open to all ages.

The exhibits will include the PA Firefly exhibit, PA Wood Mobile, DCNR Forestry, Seneca Rocks Audubon Society, Xerces Society, Keystone Trails Association, Dark Skies Pittsburgh, North Country Trail Allegheny National Forest Chapter, PA Wilds and more.

Visitors will find information about fireflies, meet with other environmental related organizations, and discover more about outdoor recreation opportunities in the PA Wilds while shopping at the fun & unique shops of the Market Village for souvenirs and firefly merchandise.

Additionally, everyone’s favorite Pennsylvania troubadour, Matt Miskie will provide musical entertainment throughout the afternoon.
