DEP Invites Comments on Water Quality Permit Approvals For Eastern Gas Transmission & Storage Appalachian Reliability Pipeline Project In Armstrong, Greene, Westmoreland Counties

The Department of Environmental Protection published notices in the December 13 PA Bulletin inviting comments on three water quality approvals and permits for the Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. Appalachian Reliability Pipeline Project in Armstrong, Greene and Westmoreland counties.  (PA Bulletin, page 8437 - 8439)

The Reliability Project includes the--

-- TL-636 Natural Gas Transmission Line, Murraysville Borough, Westmoreland County;

-- JB Tonkin Compressor Station, Murraysville Borough, Westmoreland County;

-- Two existing contractor yards, Salem Twp., Westmoreland County;

-- Delmont Pipeline Metering & Regulating Facility, Salem Twp., Westmoreland County;

-- Crayne Compressor Station, Franklin & Morgan Twp., Greene County; and

-- Roaring Run Pipeline Metering & Regulating Facility, Kiskiminetas Twp., Armstrong County.

The approvals include a Section 401 Water Quality Certification, Chapter 105 Encroachments and Chapter 102 Erosion and Sedimentation Permit.

DEP’s Regional Permit Coordination Office is accepting comments on these permits until January 12-- 30 days after the notices.  

No hearings have been scheduled, but they may be requested.
