DEP To Host June 10 Informational Meeting On The Air Quality Permit To Expand Western Fumigation At Penn Terminals Facility In Eddystone Boro, Delaware County

The DEP Southeast Regional Environmental Justice Program is hosting a June 10 in-person informational meeting on the Air Quality Plan Approval Permit for the Western Fumigation At Penn Terminals facility in Eddystone Borough, Delaware County.

The meeting will be held at Lathem Hall at Widener University, 1301 Potter Street in Chester, Delaware County from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Western Fumigation is requesting an air quality plan approval to expand their existing operation of batch fumigation located in Eddystone Borough.

Western Fumigation and DEP will be at the information meeting to explain the operation and plan approval process respectively and answer questions from the public.

The DEP Office of Environmental Justice helps ensure that all community members have equal opportunity to participate in DEP’s decision making process. 

This project is in communities with particular environmental justice concerns as identified on PennEnviroScreen EJ Viewer [enter the facility address in the address box-- 1 Saville Avenue, Eddystone PA 19022]. 

This application will be reviewed by DEP utilizing Enhanced Public Participation.

The draft plan approval issuance will be published in the PA Bulletin on June 14th, 2025, for a 30-day Public Comment period ending on July 14th 2025. 

Comments on the draft plan approval should be submitted through the Air Quality resource account at RA-EPSEROAQPUBCOM@pa.gov.
