PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - June 14

The following notices were published in the
June 14 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- DEP’s Oil and Gas Technical Advisory Board is scheduled to meet June 25 and on the agenda is a discussion of well development pipelines, wastewater management practices and future well plugging funding needs. Read more here.


--  DEP invites comments on an Air Quality Plan Approval Permit covering the installation of 72 - 2.5 MW diesel-fired emergency generators (180 MW total) and two 750 kW diesel-fired house emergency generator engines at the new Amazon Data Services Inc. data center in Falls Township, Bucks County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4078Read more here.

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC - Rock’s Shale Gas Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soils contaminated with production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Overton Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4111)

-- EQT ARO LLC - H.Lyle Landon Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Cogan House Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4113)

-- Coterra Energy - D.Lewis Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater at the pad located in Bridgewater Twp., Susquehanna County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4113)

-- SWN Production Company, LLC - NR-13 Brant West Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with oil-based drilling mud at the pade located in Great Bend Twp., Susquehanna County.   (PA Bulletin, page 4114)

So far in 2025, DEP received or acted on 83 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups.
