Request Native Trees Now For Fall Planting Thru PA Interfaith Power & Light, Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership

The
PA Interfaith Power and Light is mobilizing people of faith and conscience across Pennsylvania to request native trees for fall planting across Pennsylvania through PA Plants Native!  Priority requests close June 27.  Requests close June 30.

Working with the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership, you can submit a requests for native trees and shrubs through PA IPL.

PA IPL gets trees to planters through a decentralized network of volunteer hosts. We have committed network hosts in 20 Pennsylvania counties and have reached program participants in an additional 35 counties. This represents 85% coverage of the state’s 67 counties.

The goal of the program is to plant at least 50,000 native trees in 2025.

The program is designed for people who want to request at least one native tree to plant (and up to as many as you’d like!) – either in their backyard, on acreage they own, their congregational or community space, or on public lands (with permission).

There is a particular focus on reaching rural and urban communities who experience disproportionate impacts of environmental injustice or would otherwise have a more difficult time accessing quality and affordable native trees.

Planting native trees and shrubs improves water quality, increases habitat for wildlife, supports pollinators, and supports healthier communities. Trees provide shade and cooling benefits. They can also act as a food source for humans and animals.

Tree equity is an important indicator of community wellbeing. The best tree is the one already planted; the second best is the one you plant today!

Requesting native trees is easy--

1. Visit The Tree Planting Guide

2. Complete the Request Form

3. Join the PA IPL Planters' Community

Can’t plant a tree? There are many ways to get involved! We need dozens of volunteers each season to help with unloading, sorting, and tagging.

Contact creationcare@paipl.org if you are interested in helping somewhere close to you.
