The Summit features a Trail Maintenance Symposium on September 21 presented in partnership with The Maintenance Institute and WeConservePA.
The event dives deep into the real-world challenges and solutions of maintaining sustainable, accessible, and resilient trail systems in an era of increased use and environmental pressures.
Also featured is The Natural Trail Experience on September 22, a new educational track focused on natural surface trail systems.
Designed for trail builders, planners, land managers, and community leaders, it features hands-on workshops and expert discussions to inspire and equip attendees with the tools to enhance Pennsylvania’s trail networks.
Participants may choose to attend the "Experience" as a standalone event or include it as part of their two- or three-day Summit registration.
The keynote speaker will be Julie Judkins, Founder of Just-Trails, a consulting practice dedicated to regenerating nature and communities through the connective power of trails.
Julie develops signature programming to mobilize communities and young people to take action as land stewards.
She consults for and with unique communities and trail organizations around the world, supporting inclusive trail design, engagement, and management through technical assistance to build capacity for regenerative outdoor assets.
