DEP Now Accepting Applications For Environmental Education Grants

The Department of Environmental Protection published
notice in the August 16 PA Bulletin announcing it will accept applications for Environmental Education Grants between August 18 and November 14.

Funding priority is given to environmental education projects that promote the Department's mission or engage people living, working, recreating or attending school within Environmental Justice (EJ) areas, or both, or underserved communities.

Three levels of funding will be offered:

-- Seed Grant (up to $5,000) may be awarded for local (school, county, partnering municipality or other defined area) environmental education projects.

-- Grow Grant ($5,001 to $30,000) may be awarded for implementation of large-scale environmental education projects, such as school district-wide projects, multiple community or county collaborations, countywide, regional or Statewide projects.

-- Impact Grant ($30,001 to $65,000) may be awarded as a first-time project or for previous Environmental Education Grant awardees for capacity and sustainability development. These projects should allow for broad-scale audience engagement at three levels: county, regional and State.

Visit the DEP Environmental Education Grants webpage for more information [when posted].  Questions should be directed to: RA-epEEgrants@pa.gov
