The Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee is scheduled to meet on June 23 to discuss a committee report on the impact of DEP’s proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Program covering power plants on the coal waste-fired power plants.
The Joint Committee held a series of hearings starting on February 3 on the impact of the Carbon Reduction Program on coal waste facilities. Read more here.
On February 7, Senators John Yudichak (I-Luzerne), David Argall (R-Schuylkill) and Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) announced their intent to introduce a resolution directing the Joint Committee to study the potential impacts of the Program on coal waste facilities, but the resolution was not introduced. The meeting will be held in Room G-50 of the Irvis Building starting at 9:00 a.m. The meeting should be available online through the House Republican website.
