On April 15, the PA Parks and Forests Foundation welcomed new Board members Eric Williams and Eric Madden.
Eric Williams, is currently Community Affairs Liaison for the City of Pittsburgh in Mayor Bill Peduto’s Office. There he provides citywide services, programming, and support to residents and community groups.
Williams has always looked for unique opportunities to support people living in rural and urban areas. Time in the Peace Corp allowed Eric to make a difference internationally in Albania.
"Addressing environmental issues, such as restoring state parks, play a vital role in improving the lives of people in the Commonwealth, and there is no better time than now! I am excited to work with this talented and dedicated group of people on PPFF's mission," said Eric Williams.
Eric Madden serves as Vice President and Deputy Chief Marketing Officer of Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson, Inc. an engineering and architecture firm.
An avid outdoorsman and past member of the Keystone Trails Association and U.S. Parachute Association, and past-chairman of the Board of LakeNet, a nonprofit focused on the preservation of the world’s natural lakes. He and his family reside in Lemoyne, PA.
“Living amongst Penn's Woods, you quickly learn that we are merely guests in our many parks and forests. We all have a duty to enjoy, respect and protect these natural beauties and as a PPFF board member, I am proud to do my part,” said Eric Madden.
“The influx of visitors to our parks and forests these past few weeks demonstrates the role these important places have in the lives of Pennsylvanians,” said Marci Mowery, President of the PA Parks and Forests Foundation. “Now, more than ever, the work of the Foundation is needed to ensure adequate funding for park and forests operations, to address maintenance needs, and to engage the public and businesses as volunteers in the stewardship of our lands. Eric and Eric bring new skill sets and interests to the Foundation to empower our mission to steward our state parks and forests."
