2016 Lake Erie International Coastal Cleanup: 1,885 Volunteers, 5,257 Pounds Of Trash

This year’s PA Lake Erie International Coastal Cleanup was held on September 17 and resulted in 1,885 volunteers picking up 5,257 pounds of trash along the Lake Erie shoreline and waterways within Erie County.
DEP’s Coastal Resources Management Program has been the main sponsor of the PA Lake Erie International Coastal Cleanup since 2003. Since then, the cleanup has removed 121,886 pounds of trash from the Lake Erie shoreline and watershed tributaries.
