PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - September 20

The following notices were published in the September 20 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- DEP published notices in the September 20 PA Bulletin announcing the approval of Water Quality Permits for the National Fuel Gas Tioga Pathways Natural Gas Pipeline Project in McKean, Potter and Tioga counties.  (PA Bulletin, page 6778 - 6780)  Read more here.

-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the September 20 PA Bulletin the Executive Director gave his approval to or renewed 40 general water use permits in August for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming counties. So far in 2025, SRBC issued or renewed 322 general water use permits for shale gas development.  Read more here.

-- Expand Operating LLC - Them Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standard at the pad located in Wysox Twp., Bradford County. (PA Bulletin, page 6764)

-- EQT ARO LLC - Mallory Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standard at the facility located in Plunketts Creek Twp., Lycoming County. (PA Bulletin, page 6764)

-- Monroe Energy - Trainer Refinery Quill Release: DEP issued a technical deficiency letter on the Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with inorganics and organics to meet the Statewide Health Standard at the facility located in Marcus Hook Borough, Delaware County. (PA Bulletin, page 6767)

So far in 2025, DEP received or acted on 135 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups.
