Penn State Extension Hosts April 25 Webinar On PA Countywide Clean Water Action Plan Public Engagement Strategies

On April 25,
Penn State Extension will host another in its Water Cooler Talk series of webinars on Pennsylvania's Countywide Clean Water Action Plan Public Engagement Strategies from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

In the 2019 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Plan, the Department of Environmental Protection rolled out a “local and specific” strategy to reduce its pollution burden on the Chesapeake Bay by 2025.

Counties with land within the Chesapeake Bay watershed were encouraged to engage with local stakeholders to develop localized plans to achieve reduction goals for nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loads impairing their local waters and the Bay downstream.

Thirty-four of the forty-three counties in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in Pennsylvania participated in the Countywide Clean Water Action Plan program.

This Water Cooler Talk will present the engagement strategies used by the counties and the social and environmental outcomes achieved through those stakeholder engagement processes.
