DEP Issues Air Quality Permits For Keystone, Conemaugh, Homer City Coal-Fired Power Plants Including Previously Announced Shutdown Dates

The Department of Environmental Protection published notices in the March 30 PA Bulletin announcing it has issued revised Air Quality Permits that include previously announced shutdown dates for the Keystone, Conemaugh and Homer City coal-fired power plants--

-- DEP issued a revised Air Quality RACT 2 permit for the Keystone-Conemaugh Projects, LLC  Keystone Station Power Plant in Plumcreek Twp., Armstrong County to meet federal Regional Haze requirements.  It includes a provision the facility no longer burn coal after December 31, 2028.  (PA Bulletin, page 1761)

-- DEP issued a revised Air Quality RACT 2 permit for the Keystone-Conemaugh Projects, LLC Conemaugh Station Power Plant in West Wheatfield Twp., Indiana County to meet federal Regional Haze requirements.  It includes a provision the facility no longer burn coal after December 31, 2028.   (PA Bulletin, page 1761)

-- DEP issued a revised Air Quality RACT 2 permit for the Homer City Generation, LP Power Plant in Center Twp., Indiana County to meet federal Regional Haze requirements.  It includes a provision the facility no longer burn coal after June 30, 2023.  (PA Bulletin, page 1761)

DEP announced public comment periods and a hearing on each of the proposed permits in a PA Bulletin notice on January 27-- Keystone Station; Conemaugh Station and Homer City.
