On March 20, the Clean Air Council, Moms Clean Air Force and Earthworks will host a webinar on federal waste emission charges to be assessed on the oil and gas industry from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently proposed its Waste Emissions Charge for oil and gas operators as required by federal law.
This rule would require large emitters to pay a fee for excessive climate-warming emissions. It would also incentivize operators to comply with existing methane regulations as soon as possible and plug wells to avoid additional emissions.
The public comment period for the Waste Emissions Charge is currently open and will close on March 26, 2024.
Please attend our informational webinar to learn more about the Waste Emissions Charge and how you can voice your support for a strong final rule.
