PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices/Opportunities To Comment - October 21

The following DEP notices were published in the
October 21 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the October 21 PA Bulletin of a November 2 hearing on water withdrawal requests-- including seven related to shale gas drilling-- to be considered at its December 14 business meeting.  Two requests are for shale gas drilling in the Loyalsock and Pine Creek exceptional value watersheds.   Read more here.


-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the October 21 PA Bulletin  the Executive Director of the Commission gave his approval  to 19 water use permits for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Susquehanna, Tioga counties.  Read more here.

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - R. Warriner Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report addendum on remediation of groundwater contaminated by diesel-based drilling mud for the pad located in Dimock Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 6613)

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - M. Abbott Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediate soil contaminated by a release of compressor oil for the pad located in Bridgewater Twp., Susquehanna County.  (PA Bulletin, page 6614)

-- Seneca Resources Company, LLC - Covington Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater for the pad located in Covington Twp., Tioga County. (PA Bulletin, page 6613)

-- Laurel Pipeline Company, LP - Storage Tank Farm: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated with unleaded gasoline chemicals for the facility located in Bethel Twp., Delaware County.  (PA Bulletin, page 6614)

-- Former Bunting Oil: DEP sent a technical deficiency letter on a Remedial Investigation Report on remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated with MTBE for the facility located in Manheim Twp., Lancaster County.  (PA Bulletin, page 6616)
