May Schedule Of Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Locations Announced By PA Resources Council For Allegheny County

On April 23, the
PA Resources Council and its partners will host the Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program at three locations in Allegheny County in May.

This innovative program provides residents with a higher quality glass recycling option than typical curbside programs, ensuring that glass deposited into the bin meets the highest standards and can be fully recycled.

“The bin visits various locations on a weekly basis from Saturday through Thursday, typically from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and provides residents with a safe method for recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals or touch shared surfaces,” according to PRC Recycling Markets Program Manager Ashley DiGregorio.

The schedule include--

-- May 1-6: South Fayette Township Municipal Building, 515 Millers Run Rd, Morgan, PA 15064, hosted by South Fayette Township;

-- May 8-9: Burkett Sports Complex, 5501 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA  15136, bin hours Saturday 8 a.m. to Sunday 7 p.m.,, Hosted by Rep. Anita Kulik

-- May 22-27: Findlay Township Public Works Garage, 1058 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA 15026, hosted by Findlay Township.

Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required).  Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on.  Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.

Last year, PRC’s glass recycling program enabled 15,000+ households in western Pennsylvania to drop off 540,000 pounds of bottles, jars and jugs for recycling.

PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program is sponsored by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and CAP Glass and is made possible through a partnership with Michael Brothers Hauling & Recycling.
