Lebanon Valley Conservancy: Applications Due For College Scholarship; Volunteer For Tree Plantings; March 14 Migratory Bird Presentation


The
Lebanon Valley Conservancy is now accepting applications for the 2021 Richard H. and Karen R. Light Memorial Scholarship awarded to a local student who plans to pursue a career in environmental sciences.

The $2,500 scholarship is in memory of Richard and Karen Light, who were active environmentalists in Lebanon County.

Eligible students include graduating high school seniors as well as students attending Lebanon Valley College or Harrisburg Area Community College.

Tree Plantings

Tree plantings are planned for April 16-18 this Spring.  You can volunteer to plant trees and donate to help future tree plantings.

March 14 Bird Migration

The Conservancy is hosting a March 14 online program on bird migration and the why, how, when, where and what you may be able to see in Lebanon County.

Jim Fiorentino, a life-long regiment of Lebanon County, who grew up in Miners Village, attended Cedar Crest High School and graduated from Lebanon Valley College will be the presenter.

Jim is retired and an active outdoor enthusiast who enjoys archery hunting, bird watching and hiking.  He also serves as the current president of the Quittapahilla Audubon Society.

The program will start at 7:00 p.m. and is free, but registration is required.  RSVP by email to: lvconserve@lebanonvalleyconservancy.org
