Since 2005, WPC and the foundation have collaborated to help enhance water quality and watershed initiatives through this grant program, which has awarded $433,475 to nearly 130 organizations.
“WPC thanks the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation for its continued commitment to assisting small local watershed organizations in our region with monitoring and improving water quality in their communities,” said Jenifer Christman, vice president of watershed conservation for WPC.
The grant program provides assistance to the region’s watershed groups and awards cover program expenses in three areas: water quality monitoring, watershed restoration, and organizational promotion and outreach.
Don Houser, Dominion Energy’s state policy advisor, said the company is pleased to support local watershed groups dedicated to bettering local rivers and streams.
“It’s an absolute privilege to support these volunteer-based organizations as they complete meaningful conservation work in our communities. Over the past 15 years, Dominion Energy has been inspired by the commitment showcased by the mini-grant recipients and congratulate this year’s organizations,” he added.
