Dept. Of Health Reported 20 Additional Deaths Due To COVID-19; 929 New Cases

On July 14, the Department of Health reported 20 additional deaths as a result of COVID-19 bringing the total number of deaths to 6,931.

As of 12:00 a.m. July 14, there were 929 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 96,671 in all 67 counties.

County-specific information and a statewide map are available.

There are 850,612  patients who have tested negative to date.  Approximately 7,224 of Pennsylvania’s total positive cases are in health care workers.

Of the patients who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows:

-- 1 percent are aged 0-4;

-- 1 percent are aged 5-12;

-- Nearly 3 percent are aged 13-18;

-- 8 percent are aged 19-24;

-- 37 percent are aged 25-49;

-- Nearly 24 percent are aged 50-64; and

-- 26 percent are aged 65 or older.

Most of the patients hospitalized are aged 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. There have been no pediatric deaths to date. More data is available here.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 18,321 resident cases of COVID-19, and  3,499 cases among employees, for a total of 21,820 at 756 distinct facilities in 57 counties.
