The Environmental Quality Board Tuesday approved proposed fee increases for radon certification and a 50 percent increase in fees for the licensing and inspection of radioactive materials for public comment.
The Board also heard a report on the review of laboratory accreditation fees recommending they be increased by between 20-30 percent to make up for funding shortfalls.
These fee issues are just some of 6 or more fee increase packages DEP will be proposing this year to make up for funding shortfalls.
Also approved by the Board was a final regulation making changes to the Land Recycling Program and a proposed regulation making stream designation changes for 4 streams in Berks, Chester, Monroe, Northampton and Susquehanna counties.
Copies of the regulations and supporting documents are available on the Environmental Quality Board webpage.
