PA Council Of Trout Unlimited Names Jill Barskey Hazi Executive Director

On November 5, the
PA Council of Trout Unlimited announced Jill Barskey Hazi its new executive director.

Barskey Hazi began work Oct. 19 and will lead the Council's statewide programs on behalf of 49 local Trout Unlimited chapters and nearly 11,000 members across Pennsylvania.

“I'm thrilled to be joining PATU! I've seen firsthand the difference that restoring and protecting our water resources can make. I look forward to working alongside our 49 chapters, partners, and communities across the Commonwealth to advance our shared conservation mission and protect Pennsylvania's coldwater resources, one stream at a time,” Barskey Hazi said.

Barskey Hazi joins PATU from ClearWater Conservancy in State College, where she served as watershed stewardship coordinator from 2023 until joining PATU.

There she managed stream restoration projects from planning through completion, prepared and administered DCNR grants, and worked with more than 20 partners, including conservation districts, watershed organizations, government agencies and agricultural producers.

She also expanded ClearWater's Streamside Steward volunteer program, which recruits and trains about 30 volunteers each year to care for more than 130 acres of streamside forest buffers.

Barskey Hazi can be reached at jill.barskey@tu.org and (814) 470-8919.
